“We’ve been planning this for 10 years, and now we’re finally able to provide for families in Suffolk County the way they need,” Matt Campo, CEO of Ronald McDonald House Charities NY Metro, said in a written statement. We want to welcome you and your family and tell you about a special program that we have at the Ronald McDonald House called Family Support Services or FSS for short. RMHC serves millions of children and their families each year, but more need our help.

Locally, Ronald McDonald House Charities of Southern California operates Houses in Bakersfield, Loma Linda, Los Angeles, Orange, and Pasadena. Volunteers help us to provide comfort, care and support to children and families in Southern California. Located steps from Loma Linda Children’s Hospital, the Inland Empire Ronald McDonald House provides the families of critically ill children a safe and supportive place to stay. Join the Los Angeles Ronald McDonald House and our efforts to provide comfort, care and support for families at our House. Camp Ronald McDonald for Good Times opened a state of the art 12,000 square foot Dining Hall/Activity Center.

We are available to you seven days a week, 24 hours a day, every day of the year even after you leave the house and return home. Our hope is to create a community where children and their families embrace life and healing with a sense of hope, enthusiasm, courage, and joy by keeping families close to each other and the care they need. Expanding even further, the three-bedroom Bakersfield Ronald McDonald House opened to support families of children receiving treatment at Bakersfield Memorial Hospital and other nearby medical facilities. It also provides day-use services to local residents whose children are receiving treatment in the hospital's pediatric and neonatal intensive care units. Family Support Services (FSS) provides emotional support, education and resources to the families and staff of the Ronald McDonald House. Individuals, couples, and entire families are served in the privacy of the FSS offices, around the House, in the kitchen, playroom, on Zoom, or wherever a person feels most comfortable.

Yet, simply because we don’t have enough sleeping rooms around the world, 138,000+ families are turned away each year. Your donation can help us to expand to fulfill the needs of more sick children and their families. Whether it’s a birthday, successful surgery, completion of treatment or a good grade on a test, guests can pick out a gift from Karen’s Closet, our stockroom filled with toys, games, art supplies and more. Through our partnership with Party Pepper Uppers, guests can start their party from a Birthday or Way to Go bags. Thanks to LightZ of Hope, we light up a colorful disco ball at the Front Desk to announce good news. Our “Help Yourself” program allows guests to take what they need of available items.

FSS not only offers support to individual families, but also plans and manages House therapeutic activities such as Fun Clubs, holiday activities, and special events that provide a caring, supportive, and fun environment for all. This helps staff handle their own stress and feelings, which enables them to provide even better customer service to families. We provide compassionate emotional support for children, parents and families whether that be in our FSS office, in the playroom or kitchen, walking to the hospital with you or over Zoom. This care and support for families continues after you leave the House, and for those who return. Ronald McDonald Houses located throughout Southern California help families stay close to their child when they need treatment for a serious medical condition. Our Houses provide a home-like setting, close to the region's top hospitals, where families can stay free-of charge for as long as necessary.

We are one of the only Ronald McDonald House Charities chapters across the world that operates a cost-free, medically-supervised Camp for children with cancer and their families, Camp Ronald McDonald for Good Times. Serving close to 1,500 campers each year with programs that build courage, foster hope and promote healing for children with cancer and their families. The Long Beach House joined more than 300 other Ronald McDonald Houses in 58 countries and regions around the world.

Since opening in 1989, Ronald McDonald House® Orange County has provided comfort, care and support by keeping families together when their child needs medical care in Southern California hospitals. The Ronald McDonald House will be built on the Stony Brook Medicine campus, designed to provide a safe, secure and comfortable environment for families of children who are receiving medical care at the Stony Brook Children’s Hospital. RMHCSC continues to work to help to keep families, communities, and patients close. Seeing the number of families impacted by the Family Room program, the Orange County House opened a second Ronald McDonald Family Room at CHOC Children's in Orange extending its services and family-centered care services. A group of caring individuals teamed up to give children with cancer and their siblings an opportunity to “take a break” from their illness to just be “ordinary kids” enjoying the therapeutic benefits of the outdoors. Today, Camp Ronald McDonald for Good Times® is situated in the picturesque San Jacinto Mountains near Idyllwild and offers year-round programs for children with cancer and families at no-cost.

RMHCSC Celebrates 30 years of helping local community organizations throughout Southern California that benefit children through our Community Grants program. RMHCSC establishes a Community Grants Board with support from the McDonald's Operators' Association of Southern California that is committed to providing funds to organizations that improve the lives of children in Southern California. Each year, we rely on the expertise and talents of nearly 300 volunteers to deliver high quality, outcome driven programs. Our volunteer counselors come from all over the world and range in age from 19 to 70 years-old. The Ronald McDonald House provides housing, food and activities to families that have a child getting treatment at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital. Volunteer groups and community organizations show their love of families by hosting incredible holiday-focused events throughout the year, including parties, special meals, music and/or field trips.

700 Families

Ronald McDonald Care Mobile Programs

Reflecting the diverse communities we serve, most of our staff and FSS team is bilingual. We utilize medical translation phone services through our partnership with CyraCom. We understand the importance of a supportive “home away from home” for our families during this difficult time – and this is why we provide more than just a place to sleep. The Los Angeles Ronald McDonald House expanded its services, opening a new building adjacent to the original facility. In total, the Los Angeles Ronald McDonald House can now serve 75 families per night. Our 30,000 employees are scientists, researchers, communicators, manufacturing specialists and regulatory experts located around the globe.

This eight-room Craftsman-style home serves families whose children are receiving treatment at Huntington Hospital and other nearby hospitals and medical centers. Staying close by allows parents to better communicate with their child's medical team and improves adherence to complicated treatment plans. These are only some of the reasons that make Ronald McDonald House Charities of Southern California an important organization.

Had we been told that the total time would have been aprox 45 min later we would have left to get food and a beverage. We had to wait again for the okay to the pilot to take off so we were on the runway for another 20 min. Overall, we were delayed over 2 hours which felt like 4 hours. Cruise Ship Rooms and Suites Best Cabin Staterooms

what is a stateroom on a cruise

One of the biggest challenges to booking a cruise is making sure you wind up in the stateroom you want. Whether you’re taking your first cruise or your 100th, it’s easy to get confused… especially when looking at the seemingly random number/letter combinations indicating the various stateroom types. Keep in mind that some staterooms and features are exclusive to specific ships, so be sure to check out the amenities on board the ship you choose. You’ll sleep well knowing you’ve chosen the right spot for snoozing while cruising. Whether you’re cruising as a single parent or times two with kids in tow, you’ll effortlessly pack in more fun activities and bonding time than you ever thought possible on vacation.

Different Types of Staterooms

For this reason, it's important to decide early what kind of suite you'd like. Family rooms are often suites that feature a separate kids' room (or sectioned-off area) plus an area for a parent of parents. The spaces for kids can range from a small alcove with bunk beds to an entire adjoining cabin. Pullman beds or pullout sofas can also help families with sleeping arrangements. If you're going to squeeze your whole troupe into one cabin, make sure the space is big enough to accommodate everyone (and their luggage). However, Disney Cruises is known for offering larger standard rooms meant to accomodate families.

Balcony Staterooms

Bathtubs are a rarity in lower-level cabins; Holland America Line and Disney Cruise Line are exceptions, along with some luxury lines. Hair dryers are often found in a drawer in the vanity and not in the bathroom. Unlike at a hotel, it is also difficult to switch rooms once onboard should you have a problem or find your cabin not to your liking. Others can’t imagine setting sail without a balcony on which to sit and enjoy the view.

what is a stateroom on a cruise

On Royal Caribbean's Oasis and Quantum Class ships, there is a special program for suites known as the Royal Suite Class, which offers enhanced suite offerings. Grand Suites are where the true suite benefits begin, and each type of suite beyond a Grand Suite includes more living space. There are quite a few types of suites that essentially differ based on their location, size of the room, how many people it can accommodate, and benefits. Royal Caribbean also has balcony rooms on its Oasis Class ships that offer a view of the Central Park or Boardwalk neighborhoods, instead of the ocean.

Suites and Beyond: The Best Option for High Rollers

Other rooms are just plane different in the shape, such as rooms on the corner of ships. In fact, these rooms often different because of multiple factors, such as size, shape, window type, and location, and more. It's quite possible that the exact same shape, size, and style of room is available down the hall but more mid-ship, though at a higher cost. These two rooms are the same stateroom type, but different categories.

Family Rooms: Upcharges May Apply for More Space

Consider whether you are someone who would rather watch the wake or gaze at the horizon. Preferred locations—like a wraparound balcony at the back of the ship—will vary in price and are typically the first cabins to be booked. Inside or interior cabins are the entry-level cruise room category. Located along the inside hallways of a cruise ship, the name denotes that there is no window or porthole.

What Is a Cabin Category?

For the ultimate rejuvenating vacation experience, book an AquaClass® stateroom. These staterooms are located close to the spa and include spa amenities inside the stateroom. Oceanview staterooms are ideal if you want to enjoy savings while being able to soak in beautiful ocean views from your room.

They will often have features such as roll-in showers with benches, wider doorways, smooth thresholds and lowered sinks and counters. For cruise lines offering promotions where you choose your favorite booking perk, suite passengers often get all the freebies instead of one or two or higher amounts of onboard credit. A cozy Interior Room is our most budget-friendly option, and we offer Spacious Interiors, along with connecting rooms to accommodate larger families. The range of ultra-spacious cruise rooms across categories spans all the way up to our new Ultimate Family Townhouse — three stories that elevate the way you stay and play.

What are the cheapest cruise ship cabins?

With the touch of a button, you can transform your sky suite into an open-air room. These rooms are few and far between, and often book quickly because of demand. These rooms usually cost a bit more than an inside room, and offer natural light.

It refers to the type of cabin you book, and the price of your cruise is dependent on what type of room you choose. The biggest cabins are the suites, which can be large single-room spaces or multiroom, multideck areas where square footage rivals that of an apartment. There are various cruise categories to peruse, views to admire, amenities to enjoy, and so much more. That's why we have compiled our most frequently asked questions about cruise rooms so you can book the ideal cabin for you and truly relax during your time on the high seas even more.

One exception is the new Carnival Venezia, which has a darker (faux) wood finish to furniture in cabins that ties into the ship's Italy theme. Travelers prone to seasickness might also want to consider a balcony. This room feature not only provides quick access to fresh air but also lets you focus on the horizon line, which is said to help orientate your equilibrium. Deluxe Ocean View staterooms sleep up to five and come with an extra half-bath. The most affordable way to experience all the Carnival excitement, without cutting corners on comfort. To find cruise deals, visit Cruise Critic which offers a page with current deals.

If you’re traveling with friends or a group, you’ll want to consider how far apart your staterooms are. Will it be harder to meet up if they’re on the opposite side of the ship? Will you want to be a quick elevator ride or walk away from your fellow travelers? These are all questions to consider when you’re choosing what deck is best for you. Many passengers plan on spending the majority of their cruise outside of their room, whether they’re pumping iron at the gym, relaxing in the spa, or suntanning out on the pool deck.

Some cruise lines offer single cabins designed specifically for the solo cruiser, such as Royal Caribbean and Norwegian Cruise Line. Passengers in these cabins don't have to pay a single supplement. Secondly, storage space will be more limited in a cruise ship room, and not all cruise ship accommodations have windows while the same can't typically be said of hotel rooms. When it comes to choosing suites, it's best to figure out how much space you really need, what amenities are important to you and what you can afford to spend. Suites on most ships are often the first category to sell out, partly because there are fewer of them, and partly because they often offer extremely good value.

Not forgetting the Konafarmers market, which sells the freshest tropical fruits in all of Hawaii. Located on the rugged south coast of Kona is Kaloko-Honokohau National Park. This wilderness of lava was once a settlement for the Kanaka Maoli people. It’s interesting to learn how they survived here and why. It’s believed the Kanaka Maoli people found mana(power in Hawaiian) in the area.

There is a popular town on the island of O’ahu called Kailua. On the island of Hawaii, known as the Big Island, there is also a town called Kailua. Coffee grown in the hills above Kailua-Kona (the one place where it rains more in the summer than in the winter) is very delicious and highly prized. Read more about the Manta Ray night dive/snorkel on our website. Of course, this problem disappears if you manage to spend one night on the Big Island. If you do, please consider spending it in Volcano Village, on the doorstep of the Hawaii Volcanoes National Park.

Getting Around Kailua Kona – Hawaii

When dining in restaurants, it is customary to leave 15-20% tip for good service since servers typically make minimum wage. Banks and ATM's can be easily found in the city center. This microbrewery has pizza and live music on Sundays. You can get an informal tour if you want, and eat in a lanai with a corrugated tin roof. Ships anchor in Kailua Bay and tender passengers to Kailua Pier.

This non-profit organization aims at collecting, preserving, and telling the history of Kona. Other than the beaches of Kekaha Kai statepark, the rest have plenty of amenities like showers, bathrooms, parking, andrestaurants. Start this tour at Kailua village located right at the pier. Here you will shop for Hawaiian t-shirts, ukulele, crafts, and other souvenirs. You will get a taste of 100% Hawaiian grown chocolate and cacao from Huallalai Mountain’s Kona region on the Big Island. The Hawaiian-grown cocoa beans are hand-picked and sun-dried to preserve the quality.

Shops and restaurants are located across the street. There’s even a small beach right beside the cruise pier. The best snorkeling in Kealakekua bay is around the Captain Cook monument, but getting there is difficult. Four out of our five favorite waterfalls on the Big Island are located in or just north of Hilo.

From volcanic mountain escapades, beautiful tropical beaches, and some of the world’s best coffee, fun awaits you on the big island. Kailua-Kona is the start and finish of the annual triathlon Ironman World Championship, Kona Coffee Festival, and Hawaiian International Billfish Tournament. Famous Kona coffee is a variety of Coffea arabica cultivated on Hualalai and Mauna Loa's slopes in North and South Kona Districts. Kailua Pier is a starting and finishing point for Ironman World Championship Triathlon held in October.

Ships anchor offshore at Kailua Bay and tender cruisers to Kailua pier located at the center of Kailua village. The historic village features plenty of restaurants and shops which you can tour on foot. Kona’s conditions allow it toboast of the best beaches on the island. It is also popularly known forits world-famous Kona Coffee.

The society has two Historical sites, the H.N Greenwell Store Museum and Kona Coffee Living History Farm. Learn howto roll and make traditional Polynesian sweetbreads in an interactive bakingclass on-site. Or tour the Greenwell Store Museum for a glimpse into theculture and history of the property. Granted these are not the mostaccessible beaches, but their off-the-beaten-path-nature makes them secludedand uncrowded; perfect for a great beach day. There are more than a hundred coffee plantations on the island and some of them can be visited. Located in the centre of the village, this historic site features objects from the time of King Kalakaua and Queen Kapiolani.

The town is just a few miles south of the Kona International Airport. Kailua-Kona is situated at the bottom of the Hualalai Volcano. This area on the Big Island is considered to be one of the best places to live because of the pleasant weather and the great waters.

Don’t missout on the sweet snacks made from these fruits, especially the lilikoi (passionfruit) pound cake. Referred to as the heart of Kona, Ali’idrive is the best place to shop while you are on the Big Island. Here is where you can shop for jewelry, cheapsouvenirs, locally made art, and more.

The black sand beach is protected so remember not to take any of it with you as a souvenir. The shallow waters makes it a great place for kids and the snorkeling spots are easy to get to. There are picnic tables, equipment rental, trees for shade and concession stands. It’s located about 5 miles away from the cruise pier, so you’ll need a vehicle to get here. There aren't many sights in Kona though there are two small beaches on either side of the pier. Kahalu'u Beach Park is considered one of the best snorkel beaches and is four miles south of Kona.

However, some activities, such as whale watching, are seasonal and can only be done between January and March. Your tour starts with a 5-minute boatride from the pier to the submarine. After a safety briefing, you are usheredinto the sub where it descends to 100 feet below water. Keep your camera running, you never know what mightpop out of the blues. Carry camera and binoculars to have a great view of the whales.

15 Essential Nude Cruise Tips For an Enjoyable Experience

But a great curiosity was the figurehead, so I stopped under the bow and admired it for a long time... Later, when I was on board, I asked to the officers who or what this beautiful woman with nude breasts represented ..... The curse would only end when the beautiful Astrid discovered the place where, at sunset, the sun dives into the sea... The witch was sure that Astrid would never be able to discover that distant and unattainable place... But everyone in the village, feeling pity, came to the girl's aid, built for her a beautiful and fast sailing ship and placed her in the bow, under the bowsprit, unfurled the sails and directed the ship towards the sun... There’s a common misconception about what happens on nude cruises.

Don’t worry about cramming so many activities into one day, though. If you’re looking for something more exotic, Bare Necessities’ cruise from Bali to Fiji can’t be beaten. The cruise spans a whopping 17 nights, beginning in Bali, Indonesia.

What Are The Age Requirements For Nude Cruises?

We sailed from Tampa — stopping off at various Caribbean islands and private cruise line islands — and enjoyed a wide variety of activities on board. We met wonderful people, visited a couple of UNESCO World Heritage sites, relaxed on the most idyllic beaches in the world, and returned home totally relaxed and without tan lines. The main cruise lines do not offer any nude cruises themselves. Instead the ships are chartered by third-party companies who hire the cruise ships for a set amount of time and then market the event as a nude cruise. There aren’t currently any gay nudist cruises on large cruise ships.

Are there any LGBTQ nude cruises?

If you’ve never gone on a nude cruise (or been to any clothing-optional places), you may wonder why anyone would want to go on them. However, once you try it, you’ll definitely understand the appeal. According to the American Association for Nude Recreation (AANR), about 70% of passengers on nude cruises are on their second or third time. In terms of demographics, a majority of passengers are college graduates between the ages of 35 and 65. And while nudists and naturists consider it a lifestyle, practically anyone can enjoy a good cruise in their birthday suit. GaySail offers one of the best gay nude cruises in the world.

From luxury liners to more intimate sailing vessels, there’s a ship for every kind of naturist traveler. The demographic on nude cruises is broad, with adults of all ages sailing. According to the AANR, nude recreation enthusiasts typically are active, college-educated people between the ages of 35 and 65 who enjoy outdoor recreation and activities. Bliss Cruise, LLV, and Desire Cruises reign as other top choices in the nude cruise arena, though offerings by these companies often have swingers' cruise elements.

And Adam was revelling in showing them around his home territory. I'm considering an over-night sailing and camping expedition to Hilbre. The tides were right this weekend but the winds were too fierce for me, force the whole time, and I didn't get out in the boat at all (I feel deprived). Beautiful sunny weather for the garden though; however, I had to use some of it on afternoon naps as, first Adam, then Richard, were sick during the night and left us very short of sleep. Another benefit is the opportunity to connect with nature on a deeper level. As you spend your days lounging poolside, taking dips in the ocean, or participating in beachside activities, the direct contact with sun, air, and water can be an incredibly invigorating and grounding experience. If you’re just getting your feet wet when it comes to public nudity, you might want to consider a topless optional cruise. We went on a Temptation Topless cruise and had a blast – you can read about that experience here. However these ships may be chartered by third-party companies and used for nude cruise events. If however, the couple is seeking something more sexually-orientated with other passengers they should check out the lifestyle cruises, for example, those offered by Desire Resorts and Bliss Cruises.

Heavy Single Versus Light Twin

cessna 210 cruise speed

Here, we explore the legacy 206 and the 210 and evaluate the capability of each while considering their respective pros and cons. While it was later determined that the airframe breakup rate of the cantilever models was the same as the faster strutted ones, some critics question the wisdom of this redesign. The most popular of the Centurions was probably the turbo model. Since the Cabots now do much of their flying in the Mountain West, a blower out front seemed a good idea.

Much fanfare and a raft of early problems accompanied the introduction of Cessnas only pressurized single.

The historic nemesis of older Centurions—fatigue cracks in landing gear saddles—has apparently not abated completely. The airplane is powered by a horizontally opposed, six cylinder, direct drive, turbocharged, air cooled, fuel injected engine. The engine is a Continental Model TSIO-520-AF and is rated at 310 horsepower. The final version of the P210, the R model, was introduced in 1985.

Used Aircraft Guide: The Cessna 210 Centurion

We stripped out the installed oxygen tanks for added hauling capacity. It will carry so many people and luggage that I cannot rent a mid-sized SUV at our destination without expecting to put luggage under our feet in the car. I am amazed every time I load it up, thinking that this time I am surely exceeding the envelope.

Similar Aircraft

Consider the plight of a Baron owner who got hit by both recent Continental crankshaft ADs. Besides having the airplane down for many months, both engines might have been removed, dissembled, repaired and re-installed. The twin will shine on shorter trips which require hauling a lot of heavy or bulky stuff-say carting the family 300 miles to the beach house for a two-week stay. If the beach house is 1000 miles away, the twins range/payload parity may evaporate. With the larger tanks-and thanks to its smaller IO-470s-the Baron can fly for 5.6 hours, with a still-air range of more than 900 miles. Handling, Single EngineFew light twins qualify for what we call the Joy of Flight award.

LANDING GEAR

Although production of 210s ended in 1986, owners report good parts availability, albeit with high prices. Used parts are sometimes an option, given the relatively high population of 210s. While they appreciate the capability of the turbo, they question whether it’s worth the headache. Subsequent generations of the 210 incorporated better landing gear designs, such as the simplified 1970 model year and the 1972 model year that tran-sitioned to a far superior electro-hydraulic system. Best of all is the 1979 and newer gear design, which has proven remarkably reliable and trouble-free.

Cessna 210: KING OF THE SINGLES

Only if such lofty numbers sound doable should you then consider the performance and speed pros and cons and the ever intangible perceived safety factor. If you can easily afford it-including the training-theres nothing quite like having a fist full of throttles. But if the dollars are a pinch and you dont fly but 50 hours a year, stick with the heavy single. Distilling the twin pro and con arguments soon confronts the issue of training, both initial training for the multi-engine rating and re-current training for systems and engine-out work. And having a second alternator, vacuum pump and the de-icing systems that some twins carry is also an undeniable plus and perhaps worth the extra maintenance costs. Simply stated, expect to spend twice as much for gas and oil as you would for a heavy single.

Cessna T210 Turbo

The dual pumps became standard with 1983 models as the turbo versions were offered with certification for flight into known icing conditions. Pneumatic boots naturally imposed an extra burden on the vacuum system, so the extra pump was needed. I did the Sierra mod to remove the gear doors on the main gear.

Ice is easy to see on the plane and it will pick up rather quickly. Ive had at least three pumps (two in one year), two alternators and several breakages. By the same token, dual 60-amp alternators were available on 1982 P210s, and some 1980 and 1981 models were retrofitted at the factory. Some earlier P210s have a small emergency standby generator, which is not as good, but certainly better than nothing.

cessna 210 cruise speed

While regular use can be a good thing for the health of an airplane and especially an engine, owners advise using caution when considering a 206 that has been used commercially. Many have led hard lives and have been kept outdoors for decades, whereas their privately-owned counterparts are more likely to have been babied by doting owners and kept in climate-controlled hangars. For pilots with substantial time in a Cessna 182 or even a 172, stepping up to the non-pressurized six-place 210 Centurion could make good sense—especially if the mission includes traveling with people and stuff. These are stable and capable weather-flying machines, and turbocharged models are honest 180-knot-plus cruisers. The Cabots report typical cruise speeds of 170 to 180 knots at middle altitudes, burning gph.

When all-out payload and speed are important, the 210 is hard to beat. One engine upgrade I have taken advantage of is the Vitatoe turbonormalized Continental IO-550-P. In my opinion this has made the 210 everything it can be and is surely what Cessna would have ended up putting in this plane rolling out of Wichita if it had not pulled the plug in 1986.

A light, unloaded example can be something of a hot rod when it comes to acceleration and climb performance. But even loaded to maximum takeoff weight, the books indicate a 210B requires only 1,210 feet to clear a 50-foot obstacle on takeoff, and a P206E requires only 1,800 feet. These initial seats were diminutive affairs with backrests that unfolded out of the raised baggage area floor.

When I acquired the T210N in 1996 it was 14 years old, with the original paint and interior in great condition and it was still in good condition when I sold it in 2013. The plane had spent nine years in Toulouse, France, and it came back with 1400 hours on it. So when I bought it, right away I put in a factory remanufactured engine and installed a Horton STOL kit.

cessna 210 cruise speed

The P210 is almost as much a set of systems that are transported by air as is a turbine aircraft. It is a checklist airplane and one that is operated by a manager. The decisions you make before you buy it and fly it will affect greatly the flying you do in it.

The acid test for all twins, of course, is single-engine performance. You are, after all, buying into the worst case scenario, not hoping for the best. In general, this group of twins would best be characterized as not bad but not exceptional, either.

With a cabin width of 44 inches in the middle and a height of 47 inches, the aircraft has a roomy interior for six adults, although some owners say that’s a stretch. Still, we used to put six adults in a T210 pretty regularly, with the smallest people in the far aft seat. You could carry full fuel, six 170-pounders and about 10 pounds of baggage. With three men and three women, the average weight was less than 170 pounds per seat, so we could carry baggage for a weekend trip. No other single comes close to this except the Piper Saratoga, which rings in about 30 pounds shy and is slower.

Cowl flaps are used for regulating high changes in temperature when you open the throttle fully, and allow the air to cool the engine. Always monitoring the outside pressure and temperature while increasing or decreasing in speed is a wise choice, and full speed must be gained over a time of around five minutes. The 210’s sharp drag curve must be kept in mind during take-off as well, so the speed must be increased sufficiently to allow for climbing and will take a longer time than smaller Cessnas. Prices for this make vary with each model, and because of various reasons.
